In the summer of America’s Bicentennial, after a tragic racing accident takes the life of sixteen year old Jarett Randall’s prized trotting colt, Jarett embarks on a five year journey of torment through every parimutuel racetrack in Western New York State until the day he crosses paths with a rogue colt. Jarett and the colt form a bond that propel them to the top of the New York Sire Stakes and into the richest purse in the history of The Hambletonian; but in order to achieve victory, they must both face the demons of their past.
